It turns out that chronic pain is determined by a person’s gender. This was shown by studies by the professor of the Australian University of Adelaide Mark Hutchinson. In women, the mechanism of the appearance of pain is much more complicated than in men, which is determined by the special structure of the brain's immune cells. This explains the reason for the transition of acute pain to chronic pain in women. Now in the pharmaceutical market, drugs targeted specifically at treating women are beginning to appear. In particular, this applies to drugs for the treatment of various inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
